Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS) is a complex and often debilitating condition that affects people in profound ways. Financial barriers also present a significant hurdle, with many people seeking private treatment out of desperation; the cost of medical appointments, specialised tests, and treatments often exceeds the means of those affected. Many report challenges in securing disability support, as the fluctuating and invisible nature of MCAS symptoms is poorly understood by assessors and decision-makers.
